Restoration of facades and roofs

The entire area of the Carthusian monastery in Červený Kláštor underwent a substantial construction renovation in the 1960s. As a large part of the buildings were already in ruins (except for part of the convent and the church), almost all the roofs and plasters were rebuilt. Thus, the restoration will not take the form of traditional refurbishment of historic roofs and facades, instead it will mostly be a repair of as yet unrestored parts of the roof of the monastery and the replacement of cement plasters with more traditional lime walling with structure and craft design used in the 18th century. Those windows and doors that are in very poor condition will be replaced and the rest refurbished to a fully functional form. Apart from the tavern and the accommodation premises, basically all the remaining parts of the monastery should gain new look.
